Re: K8 - Round 2 - Puzzle Bobble 2 (pbobble2j)

MJSTY's recording uses "Another World". Are we allowed to do that? I thought default settings implied the original world. And if we are allowed to use the other world, what is the code to enter?

Looks like I can't use the older computer on this one.

My new recording should be the right speed.

Not sure if I'll have the time, but knockout is always too exciting to pass up a chance to try.

Re: WCC8 week1 : DIMAHOO

I was doing ok until I learned about the item system. Now I keep dying ...

Do specific items do anything for you? You can use a bomb early to get Great Armor and there's a "Armor x8" message, but I have no idea what effect that has if anything.

Nobody ever commented on this, but I endorse Chad's proposal.

It's not hard to make an impossible challenge (say, run 50 meters in 1 second). I think with this sort of question you have to differentiate genuine-difficult from cheesy-difficult. Cheesy-difficult would be (for example) the later Gauntlet Legends, like BBH pointed out. To suggest another, I'd go w...

The new rules (rough draft)

I don't expect this to happen until the summer (I just moved into a new house so I've been busy), but I wanted to get out how I expect the rules to go so people can pick over them. The tournament will last 5 weeks only. The emphasis here is speed. Rather than completing entire games (with one except...

My idea: Have teams of five (or whatever -- just as example). On each game being played, only the top two scores from a particular team matter. In other words, not everyone has to be an expert on every game -- it can be split up among the teams, so if (for example) BBH and Metrackle were on the same...

I will second the vote that Mario Bros. is too similar to Popeye.

Not sure if all of these would hold up under tournament conditions, but I guess that's where the argument phase comes in.

Very good work TRB 8) Jason, I'm sorry for your "57seconds thing" in the last round, You could have been in Winners Bracket now :( . No worries. I have more time to play Okami and Rhem 2 and DROD and all the other games I need to catch up on. Nice work on Bonk's, while I had the levels fi...

Congrats Nanni. :D In case you are curious, I saw your new score, and thought "what the hell, let's give it one last try" after zhorik suggested it, had crummy gameplay, but somehow managed to get through the 4-4 boss anyway at which point I ESCed out and found out I should've ESCed out a ...

My guess is the second button was for the programmers to test the game, and since the cabinet is one-button they left it in.
