Could we consider going back to the Alphamame blocking, but with Wolfmame substituted for .71 and later?

Just for the sake of playbackability I would be in favor.

my point was that if the poll had been phrased differently in the first place, there wouldn't be this sudden confusion Wait a second.... Isn't the phrasing of the question in your poll about the leeching in Cosmic Chasm substantially the same? Maybe you're right.. we should be more careful about wh...

Barry decided to stop his work on alphamame (Due to that crackpot that hacked it..) , so this is his choice, not the publics choice (nor the editors) I understand. Very unfortunate. I really think we should have an official, secure-as-possible version of mame to promote some degree of standar...

Don't think I've changed it since last time, but I'm attaching the current one.

Also, the recording I attached to my earlier post does play back for me with the -nosound option. I forgot to include that on my command line when I tried before .

I don't have a grasp of this inquiry yet He edited out or deleted his original questions which were nothing new anyway. I happened to see his post before he changed it. alphablocking is dead and gone, since someone posted a way to hack alphamame publicly. No more alphablocking will be done at marp ...

The rules actually only "discourage" leeching...and say it's banned for some games. That actually impies it is ok by default to leech your butt off except in cases where it has been banned... Rule 2.f. states: (emphasis added) Point or life leeching is strongly discouraged, and banned on ...

??? How so? I read the thread you pointed to and didn't see anything pertaining to my question. Why is a 2/3 majority required here? If I were Pat, if anything, a 2/3 majority would be required to allow the technique, as it is pretty clearly in violation of a standing rule. well, yes. that's exactl...

This was the poll that resulted in the Alphamame blocking.

Read the third paragraph of Chad's original post very carefully.

It answers your question.

The general rule as QRS quoted above doesn't allow this type of leeching. So the vote should really be if you want to make an exception to this rule and allow the leeching in this case. Why does this angle make a difference? Well, because of another MARP rule which requires 2/3rds in favor of the a...
