Re: Mighty Pang panic mode

Simply copy all the ROMs and XORs into mpang.zip. You will need to rename the zip to mpangj.zip when you use a version of MAME that has just the Japanese version, but that's a pretty simple operation. Filenames of the ROMs in a zip are irrelevant. great, nice to know.. thanks for the help.. later -1

Re: *jrpacman-fast

I still keep a Windows 95 machine tucked away in a closet in case I ever absolutely must see an old recording. I installed Windows 98 into a VirtualPC for this purpose, although I do still have an actual machine with it too just in case. I should make a Windows 95 one, too. that was the first thing...

Re: Mighty Pang panic mode

...or you could simply merge the ROMs. Problem solved. :) hmm..i've never tried that.. but i did take the old roms, from pang, and move them into pangj, and it still didn't work.. it seems there was some renaming, and also some possible encryption(?) on the older versions.. regardless...i got it to...

Re: *jrpacman-fast

i'm using the latest version of DOSBOX to run mame in a window under vista... it works fine since it emulates sound blaster card, and video.. You may be the first person I've heard report a means to run old DOS-based MAME versions on a Vista or XP machine. Might be worth posting separately in the G...

Playing back old recordings under XP and Vista

there's a lot of great replays on this board, but they use old versions of mame .. which causes problems if you really want to watch them.. i'm posting some of the things i've found out in this thread: ----------------- (under replayability) http://forums.marpirc.net/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=14409 i...

Re: *jrpacman-fast

a few other things.. if you want to watch the 'slow' - normal version high score replay.. (mame 35b13 version) in order to get this working.. you need to 'fix' the roms.. rename jrprom.5s to pacman.spr (i think this is the sound?) rename jrprom.9e, 9f, 9p to -> jrpacman.9e, 9f, 9p you'll get some er...

Re: 720

720 seems to work ok in this version.. currently.. i'm rotating between 106 (because thats what TG uses).. wolf130... another popular version.. and wolf136.(the latest).. some games have problems in the later versions.. i suck at 720! I've tried playing back the better scores to learn, but most of t...

Re: Mighty Pang panic mode

i cant get the wolf106 high score in tour mode to work... (japan)..or the panic/expert in wolf104.. they've renamed the roms..and moved the files around.. - 0.125u3: Bonky added Mighty! Pang (Euro 001010). Renamed (mpang) to (mpangu). none of the romsets work for the older high scores.. i think i ne...
