The problem is that Raiden recordings don't playback fine in recent versions, at least for me. That's why my last submission was recorded with AdvanceMAME... (apart from the fact that I prefer playing in my arcade cabinet instead of the keyboard!) Seriously, if you have playback issues with a...

He is not healthy anymore to play football. In fact, he had to be hospitalized recently. His condition was critical but fortunately he se...

MARP would easily survive without a leaderboard, but all the competition would be isolated to individual games. ...which might even be a good thing, because then people will only submit for games that they actually care about. I don't mind people submiting for games they don't care about, and I don...

LN2: Another option you have is to use AdvanceMAME. Among its great features it has Mac OS X support.

Give it a try!

No Francois, I'm not that good at Wonder Boy! :D

What I said is that Wonder Boy Deluxe (one of the clones) have different levels when you set the difficulty to 'hard'.

It changes from the beginning of the game, try it!!!

Dip-switches

Hello marpers! Recently I was fooling around with the dips and discovered that some games become quite different if you change the difficulty. I knew Wonderboy Deluxe has new levels when it is set to hard, but I just found the same happens with Terra Cresta. Very cool!!! So I wanted to share my disc...

You know what all this about playing the game how you are supposed to, etc made me think of? The Matrix! Think about it... when you play the game the way you are supposed to, you are inside the matrix. But if you know how to exploit a bug or perform a trick it is as if you were outside the matrix. W...

It's often just a common sense thing. Anyone can see a game, and tell if the rules stated by the game are being bent or broken...or if a severe leech spot is being used etc. without having to play the game and do it themselves. That's right. It's often (not always) a common sense thing. That's why ...

To ask that each try and successfully do the trick prior to banning it is flawed. You will end up with those that can do the trick voting to allow it...and most that would want to ban the trick, not care to waste their time playing a game to try and do a trick or if it's a trick on a later stage of...

MJS, care to state above what you mean by "Hisa's policy"? Do you mean require all do a trick etc. before voting? I don't understand how you and a couple others say others can't judge something just from the information and evidence provided by OTHERS. You don't need to regenerate all the...

Fine but let's consider the following problem (again): Currently how do you guarantee that people who don't know what they are talking about won't vote? QRS said that the problem will always be there. LN2 hopes that each person gets familiar before casting their vote. I agree with Hisa's policy beca...

There is really no need to prove it to someone else that you can do it. We have never had that policy on MARP (except for very special cases) But what is the problem with that policy? Something shouldn't be allowed when it is so easy that it takes little effort to be performed. Once X amount of peo...

If I understood correctly what Hisa said then I agree with him. With "Ban trick opinion should be done by who can do it by onesself" I think he is trying to say that to vote in favour of banning certain technique you must prove it is easy to perform. It sounds logic. Something sould be ban...

I still hope that Zwaxy can make a new automatic tricks page so recordings using strange bugs etc can be updated more often, and most of all finds a place for them on MARP where they belong and can be watched, admired etc. I don´t want those recordings to be deleted forever. I really like watching ...
