Re: Date of T11
Actually, the Deca2K11 ends Feburary 28th, 2011.. so.. HOLY CRAP 2 DAYS FROM NOW! x.x;; Well then... I stand corrected. So I guess it turned out that my time trial overlapped the decathlon... I was aiming to hold another Mame event after the Kong Off, but I also knew it'd possibly coincide with a t...

Re: Date of T11
OK, I'm understanding your point, but if we place the tournament where you want it, when are we going to get in the MAME championships (which would overlap a bunch of other tournaments)? Just a thought...

Re: Date of T11
Cicca, With all of the tournaments we're doing this year, I don't think we're going to have a choice but to overlap other tournaments this year. :( As examples... 1. I think that the TG Decathlon will get overlapped by this tournament as it's currently scheduled by majority votes. 2. I'm going to co...

Re: Date of T11
I went with the first one... but second option is OK too. Definitely would avoid the third option... as I was hoping that the MAME championships would be held at years-end from now on... but that's just my opinion, of course.

Re: T11 - Rules
Rules sound pretty good... I do worry slightly about the scoring system, as only ten players can score points on a given game, which may hinder in participation. But this may just be a minor thing in the long run. In addition to having the tournament be from 3/1-4/30 or 4/1-5/31 (or whatever), may I...

Re: 2011 Time Trials - Awards Ceremony and Postmortem
Thanks, all. I think that I will narrow the time bonuses for next time around. Maybe... something like 60-48-40-35-30-25-20-18-16-14-12-10-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 or something like that. Hmmm... perhaps 5D should be "if there's a tie, the least bonus time wins"... I have to think about that one. I...

2011 Time Trials - Awards Ceremony and Postmortem
It's time to hand out awards for our time trial. Gold Medal - TheBSM (Italy) Silver Medal - Potante (Spain) Bronze Medal - El_Fumador (Spain) Sportsmanship award - I'm awarding joint winners to Innuendo (Brazil) and CrazyKongFan (USA). Congratulations to all of our winners! =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> And n...

Re: 2011 Time Trials - Grand Final - Galaxian
@Sawys: This is another valid point that I will reflect in my postmortem discussion that I will put up tomorrow night or Monday. Thanks.
@Agodzilla: FYI, your time expired well before you got game over at the score you claimed, hence the vastly different confirmed score.

Re: 2011 Time Trials - Grand Final - Galaxian
Just a little FYI, assuming TheBSM's latest score holds as claimed (I can't check right now), there will be a tie for first place. TheBSM will hold the tiebreaker and would win the time trials if it ended now, as he had 48 seconds more bonus time than Potante. (see rule 5d in my introduction)

Re: 2011 Time Trials - Grand Final - Galaxian
Well Giro-X, that is an interesting analysis of golden era games... so I definitely think you have a valid argument for thinking that way about Golden Era games. (BTW, the Golden Era, as I understand it, ended in 1983, so Vs. Slalom, made in 1986, is most certainly not Golden Era) I will take this i...

Re: 2011 Time Trials - Grand Final - Galaxian
Yeah, you're right. It should be 100 points per completed stage plus (48-x) points, where x is the number of aliens remaining on a stage.CrazyKongFan wrote:What's up with the scores? Everyone (except Rax) submitted them in the 500,000 and 600,000's...shouldn't they be low, like 635, 531, 500, etc?

Re: 2011 Time Trials - Grand Final - Galaxian
Actually, it's 17,091 frames. But yeah, you're correct... I miscalculated. Sorry about that.Massimo Gaspari wrote:Sorry Gameboy, are you sure of this:
"12. 4:42 (15,879 frames) - Massimo Gaspari"
For me: 282 sec x 60.6060606 = 17.090 frames
Is correct?
Thanks.

Re: 2011 Time Trials - Grand Final - Galaxian
@el_fumador: I counted 19 aliens left at end of time... that's what we're going to use instead of aliens actually killed. This is because the number of aliens given in a stage varies from 46 to 48. @giro-X: Well, that's an issue I (or any other coordinator) am going to have regardless... I rarely se...
