I seem to remember that NVRAM doesn't cause playbackability issues with Hyper Sports - ie: you could playback an INP recorded without NVRAM, using NVRAM and it'd still playback, just with a different score. This was a looooong time ago, and I'm unsure if this is still the case. My recent recording ...

yeah that was raised earlier in a roundabout way by TJT - my score of 439k didn't have a single mole so even with an nvram it wouldn't have beaten his score. I'm assuming it's certain that the TG record had plenty of moles - haven't worked out the max score without by that stage but I find it hard t...

It probably will desync - it's definately less than 439k. I think I got 17/18k moles on the first round, probably 12 or 13k on the second. There's lots of dropped points in it too so....

Without NV and failing at the horse I get around 430-440k typically.

Bit harsh: I did TEST the recording - ONCE The nv I upped was the one from the folder after I'd tested so it had been written to hence problems. The one above is my premium nv file. I appreciate that it took a nights sleep to get a good NV up but there are other problematic scores, with NV issues th...

dsk, i think you fell into the trap the nvrams lead to and it's why we care about banning such substances as much as possible. You probably copied the nvram file that was in the nvram directory after recording thus having potentially changed the nvram file that WOULD have made your recording playba...

Well all I can suggest is to try the nv attached below. I just zipped the one tommi did, not the one from the nv folder.

It plays back ok for me with the one out of the nv folder.

Doesn't play back for me :(. Did you really use mame83? Better to use Wolfmame then no one will suspect slowdown, autofire usage or pausing mid-game and such. Just to be safe use Wolfmame for MARP. Interesting that if you leave this inp to run you can see what you need to qualify on the later round...

In cli (i dont really use it) i type mamep83 hyperspt -record hyper -allownv...

I agree LN2 and hope it gets ratified. Now that Tommi's moved to include nv here, and you're gonna raise it at TG, what kind of time frame is likely in both cases? With NVram I just failed at 55 (fifty fckin five!!! :() second swimming with a score of about 408k - I had 396k after third round pole! ...

I guess the theory for high records is valid. It narks me a little, only because they were in theory set over a long perios of time and could be considered not mornal records. The main problem I have with lots of 95s or even 94s is that it takes away a little bit of the spirit of the game. For me, i...

I thought it was already being discussed?

The hi should stand, getting bored repeating now. Special rule needed (those three words seem ok for everything else lol)

Des, as I understand it, this is where we are: MARP doesn;t allow NV. The hi score uses it, cos it was pre 'no NV' era TG record is set using NV, don't think the records are documented Me, AL and TJT think that NV should be allowed. I think one of us could beat 538k (TG) without it but not the point...
