Beginner Mode?

What is 'beginner mode'? It seems to make the first game a lot easier if you say 'yes' to the question.

The 'special rules' for Ultimate Tennis don't mention it.

It's possible to change dipswitches lots of times part way through a game, so using NVRAM wouldn't record what changed, and when. Keeping it in the .inp file means that every single change is recorded accurately. On the downside, last time I looked, every dipswitch position is stored in the .inp fil...

You can change whatever settings you like in a previous game and they will be remembered. Disabling the TAB key altogether when recording doesn't sound like a bad idea. Any settings which affect emulation (such as the dip switch settings) are stored in the inp, because MAME treats them as inputs, ju...

Hmmm. I see. There *is* a thread which makes it clear. And it should be 100-99-98-... (unless more than 100 players enter).

I'll change the scripts then.

Re: Leaderboard Error

I just wanted to put this clear in the open... Right now it's first place scoring 100 points, then second place scores 19 points. I thought it was 100-99-98-97... though it's a nice hybrid between the old and new scoring systems. ;) not that I personally care, but I think the rest of the players do...

i'll still have to email laga because i don't have the confirm link, either way this wasn't a bug, the tourney coordinator was the only one that could confirm tourney recordings. But what I'm saying is that I've fixed it, even though it wasn't a bug. You may need to reload the frame with the scores...

hey Coolaid--- i mean Zwaxy! [Watches Zwaxy come out of obscurity and through a brick wall with an Atari 2600 going "OH YEAH!"] That's not an Atari 2600, that's a Sinclair ZX Spectrum, playing Manic Miner. :o) The 'judges can't confirm' 'bug' is fixed now, but from what I can see, judges ...

And how is calculated the general ranking ? Francois The 1st place on each of the games gets 100 points. The rest of the places get points calculated as (NumberOfPlayersInTour - PlaceNumber + 1) - so at the moment, there are 8 players with recordings, so for each game, first place gets 100 points, ...

That doesn't matter. It's something like: you have to upload at least one recording on each of the games before the tournament ends. There's probably a rule to do with not hoarding all your recordings until the last 5 minutes and uploading them all at once, but there's no restriction (as far as I kn...

I have put the settings up on the T6 page for all but one of the games. The last one needs adding, but almost everything is there. More just-in-time coding from the mostly invisible MARP founder and Python hacker. Somebody will need to edit the news page around midnight to say that the tournament ha...
