nah, I have no problem with command lines. I used pcs back when there was just msdos...and have used several unix or vax/vms workstations. My unix is fairly limited though cuz I was just a user of it....e-mail, NN, ftp, telnet, basic background process running etc. but I'm constantly doing many thin...

ok, let's remind you what you said above Chad: 100% 200% 300% and beyond is not practially possible either I realized after that you get into where it won't be possible for games if the CPU can't play it that fast which is certainly true. However, there are 100s of games that play at very high speed...

yes you can! ...I didn't say you could do this in mame currently i said you could do this in mame code, and it wouldn't be hard for mame dev to do this, Well duH, that is EXACTLY what I said above so why are you disagreeing with me? Where you posted disagreeing with me made it sound like mam...

hehe....well I didn't mean to upload those movies to MARP...but it's nice for your personal use and potentially sharing with others if it's important enough. For example a world record score for Twin Galaxies having a movie of it likely would be accepted. You just mail them a CD with the movie. That...

Chad, no you can't which was the point. On my friend's 2.2 GHz Athlon, I turn off the throttle thinking I could watch an inp for a particular game faster but it plays back at 1200% even with sound still on! That's 12x normal speed. That's unwatchable. So my only choices for playing back that inp are...

Also, regarding #4, does anyone know whether the MARP website maintainers would mind adding a download of a text file alongside each zipped INP file? I always include a readme.txt file with all of my MARP submissions as well as a screenshot of the final score or high score within the game. I have n...

100% 200% 300% and beyond is not practially possible either, you can only playback as fast as your computer and game will let you, you can't just "skip" emulation instructions. (You could proly configure autoframeskip to match 200% instead of 100% as long as the game and computer can keep...

I mean There is a rule in gng that you can´t shoot zombiez on stage 3 for more than on your first life (example) a 5 men rule etc.. No using of the unlimited time bug etc. Except of that there are no more specialrules in that game. I know of more leeching places in that game, but I don´t use them. ...

I think #2 and #3 are ideas or similar to other ideas that should be implemented cuz they would be nice for playback of inps. #1 I fear though as it could result in some haxi version that would pretty much do away with inps being a fairly reliable method of score confirmation. If you added #1, it se...

hmm, of the above the one that sounds cool would be if you had a key to toggle playback at 200%, 300%, 500% instead of just the F10 key cuz turning off the throttle for many games makes it playback so fast that's really only good for final score confirmations. You really can't watch it at 1000+% typ...

Re: RE

I´m really loking forward in seeing 1mil recordings on Toki.. WEEEE and the person does not need to finish the game! Just press f10 while you play and watch! :) You could easily add the special rule that if you use any leeching in Toki then you must complete the entire game for your score to be all...

without watching the inp, how long does the flower seed shooting go on for? Perhaps instead of the 200k/life which isn't a bad idea for this particular case. It would at least have it where you don't have to watch through many lives jujst shooting enemies at 1 spot until the timer for each of those ...

Frankie, here is the problem if leeching of anytime in a game like Toki is not allowed. Let's say one person has submitted a score of 321,000 and someone else comes along with a score of 323,000. In viewing the inp the person with 321,000 files a protest saying that other person leeched a few extra ...

Given there is a time limit where when time expires you die I don't see the above as illegal leeching. It's really no different than any other game where you try and maximize the score you get each level. IMHO it would be illegal if you earn enough points to get an extra man or you can do something ...
