Tournament 6 - DEBATE ON THESE GAMES

Here are the results of my random pick of games. I indicate below the results of this random order in each category. We'll use ONE game in the 4 first categories and TWO games in the puzzle and shooter categories.

Now, we can begin a debate. In this public debate ( in this thread ), we'll discuss 2 things :

1 ) why certain games shouldn't be in the tournament :

Note that "I don't want to play it" will not be a valid reason The reasons to eliminate a game is speed, playbackability problems, ... So, in each one of the 7 categories, we start debate by number 1 ). If it's eliminated for a good reason, we study the number 2 ) , and so on ... If a game is not eliminated for a good reason, then it's selected for the tournament 6.

2 ) Settings we want to use :

Twin Galaxies' Settings will be used for this tournament, but if there is no TG setting, then we'll have to find correct settings we want to use. And if we find that TG settings are too easy or if a general marathon can be created, then we can imagine more difficult settings.

Debate will go until the 8 games are clearly decided, but I would like that period is over next Monday, 3rd february.

For Dungeons and Dragons: Shadow over Mystara, I don't have any preference on game settings, but can we use game DDSOM to avoid the bug exploits available in the DDSOMUR1 and DDSOMJR1 versions (I assume the actual version of the game to use can be stated as part of the settings described in section 2?).

I say outright remove the game, due to that very reason. The poll isn't finished at this point... if it was.. I'd say leave it in.

There aren't any other problems I know of with the game.

I would love to have Psychic 5 in a tournament, but only if there was some kind of anti-leeching rule to prevent those 15mil recordings

Other than that: Psychic 5--One of the coolest games ever made!

Problems I see until now :

BOULDER DASH
Problem : possibility of leeching in several levels. Either we find a correct way to avoid that, or we cancel the game. It would be replaced by GHOX.

SUPER OFF ROAD TRACK PACK
Problem : Super Off Road has been played in olympiad : I didn't notice that before, but to stay in the line of my decision, I dismiss that game. The game is replaced by PLEASURE GOAL / FUTSAL 5 ON 5 MINI SOCCER. Do u see some problems with that game ?

AIR GALLET ( 2nd game after DANGUN FEVERON in the shooters )
Problem : Another vertical shooter. I think we should dismiss that game in order to have an horizontal shooter, or at least a NON vertical one . What is your opinion ? If we do that, next game which is not a vertical shooter is : PARODIUS DA!

Score isn't displayed in this game before the 4th level (approximatively). Because, it must be over 1M (or 2M I don't remember). And find the good score is difficult because we want add the ones of each level (boring).

But, it's a great game. I love it

I agree with you but they're scoring annoying with Dangun. If Dangun is dismissed, so requalify Air Gallet (and Parodius Da )

Suggestion for Dungan Feveron - use Time Attack mode. No need to add up all your scores across the first few stages then (scores are shown in the top left corner of the screen, in case you hadn't noticed).
