The midpoint of T9 is around the corner so it's time to start discussing the bonus game times. What was once a near split decision between several people for first place in T9 has now become a rout by MJS; of course, with several big names either holding back or sick of their unsubmited games. I'm a bit disapointed with the puzzloop 2 performances (...twidles thumbs and looks amazed that pzloop2 got in t9 :), but there's a month to go, and I have given you a few hints via regulation uploads.

Now, As you all should know there aren't 8 games in T9; there will be a total of 9. The 9th game will be randomly selected from the un chosen games and will be announced later in May. Then, all contestants will have one day to submit the best score they can up until 24 hours after the game has been announced. This special bonus day (where everyone must be in the arcade at the same time) is crucial to the total T9 score. So, i'm giving everyone a chance to voice their opinion for availability for playing the bonus day. Thus, this is a poll to vote for which day you WILL NOT be able to participate because of previous non arcade engagements. I'll allow competitors to vote for more than one day (but since the board doesn't support multiple votes per person you'll have to post for your additional votes.)

* all times are in GMT so make sure you know what time midnight GMT is in your area!
* only votes of competitors in T9 with more than 4 games submited will be allowed!
* The bonus day will be chosen from the unvoted days with a priority given to the latest day.
* If ALL days are voted for, the Bonus game will be played on Sunday May 29th 00:00:00 - May 29th 11:59:59 GMT (The final day of the tournament.)
* All acceptable recordings for the final game must be completely uploaded before the end of the bonus day.
* This poll will last three weeks and close on May 20th.

Awful rule !
5 days on 7, my day is :
*06:00-08:00 = waking up, feeding children, bringing them to the babysitter
*08:00-18:00 = work
*18:00-20:00 = bringing back children, bath etc ...
*then eat, and go to sleep because exhausted

I can play these days around 30mn or 1 hour max ;
only saturday/sunday are ok for me ;
but if other day is chosen, I don't see the point to go on in t9

And what if a guy isn't at home the day chosen (we can suppose this day can be chosen even if he votes against) ? ... 8 weeks of efforts on 8 games ruined in 1 day

that's the point. 30-60 minutes. no long term practice. don't whine that you don't have enough free time, you find lots of time to submit mahjongg recordings so you can find some time during one week to play one game! everyone is in the same boat, no one has all day to play video games (except maybe destructor!) you give it your best shot and see who's shot was the best.

I think his point was that if one happens not to be able to access a computer and upload a score during that particular 24 hours, and the game counts the same as the other 8, and the player is not allowed at least a last-place dummy submission, then he loses 100 points (to the 1st place finisher, slightly less to the others) which would be a crippling blow in the overall points.

Or is there something we are not understanding?

I'm not really whining, at least not for my case : I'm not playing t9 for the first places, only for fun (especially naname).
I just say that IMO this rule spoils the tourney, and I wouldn't like to see for example (if things stay like that) MJS beaten the last day because he couldn't upload something (PC down, travel for work, sunday spent with girlfriend ... I don't know, plenty of reasons)

point taken, i just felt i needed to shake things up a bit, could have been a good move, still might be, at least it gives the 2nd 3rd people another chance for taking first place away from mjs if they cant do it in the 8 games. I will relax the submision time limit, so as long as the recording is dated with in the bonus day, submision can be any time before the tournament ends (hopefully the bonus day wont be the final day.) That still requires internet access at the begining of the day to know which game to play. Here are the games that the bonus game could be.

I didn't vote. All days are fine for me, if nothing unexpected happens.

Hehehe... I NEVER know which will be the next day of my play... Currently, the time is not enough But I think all the player have problems... so, no problem.

Hmmm... My preference is the day would be at weekends... SATURDAY or SUNDAY is the best choice.

I highly agree with Phil... does not have sense if you play 2 months and one "special" game get you without time to play it (0 play)...

Ok, Skito, try to avoid unwished days in advance is a good idea, but not 100% fair with everyone...

But the "add-ons" are ever welcome. Welll.. let's play!!!

For me saturday, sunday and monday are ok (monday, i am with my children in the morning)
Others days, i work from 8 to 12 and from 13 to 17.
But it will be as you want.

Like most people I play mainly on weekends, so my vote goes to mon-fri (all days of the week except saturday and sunday).

How will I know which will be the date? We will know BEFORE? Or only when the "day" starts???

if the vote ended now it will be Saturday the 29th, so saturday early morning till saturday late night. I think it will probably be saturday unless somone really can't make it on saturday and votes no for it. I will tell the day after this poll closes, which will be the 21rst i think.
