Theres no way he got a score of 50 on this. Theres only 2 invaders you hopefully shoot and then the game ends with a score of 30 not 50 .

Why didn't you just download the recording to see if he got 50 or not? You're basically accusing him of either lying about his score, or making a mistake on entering his score... when you could have saved yourself the time of making this thread by just downloading and watching the inp to see if the score was right or not. If the score isn't right, or you can't playback the recording, THEN make a topic here. This is MARP, where you have the power to download and watch recordings!

But to answer your question anyway... his score is correct, he gets 50 points. I don't know what happens, the score is 30 for a while and then jumps up to 50 before it locks up. Either way, I don't think you should get too worked up over this because seeing how the game is in a broken state and MAME even says it's not working, it should be archived until it's fixed (thus wouldn't count towards the leaderboard, which will obviously kill both of you guys' interest)

Like i have saide before Matt.. I don'nt understand how to watch my recordings once i named the inp files. So if i can'nt watch my own files how can i watch other people's?

I just wanted to know where he got the extra points from . Theres only 2 invaders everything else is Invisable but continues too shoot at you then game crashes.

Um, you do know you are required to verify your own recording/playback before you submit?

From the rules page (Rule 3)

"3. Playback in a specified version of MAME is required to prove your scores. Detailed instructions about recording and playing back .inp files can be found here. It is therefore a player's responsibility to double-check their recordings to ensure that they playback properly."

Like Al says, It is required otherwise you could just upload a screen shot of your score (boring, no action) instead of the inp and you can't playback a screenshot. The A in mArp stands for action. MARP IS NOT JUST A HIGHSCORE SITE.

The good news is if you are making recordings, it is very simple to play them back. After you record them in the gui, first: remove the nvram file before playing back (or set the nvram folder/option to nil), then just select "Playback Input" instead of "Play and Record Input" then select the file you just recorded. If you are using the command line, just replace "playback" with "record" in your recording commandline, and then you can watch a "movie" of what you just did.

Also keep in mind rule 2.n: "Submit only games that you feel are worthy of the notice of other MARPers, owing either to personal effort, or display of skill."

These submissions are clearly in violation of the MARP rules. I'm not sure what the punishment for violating these rules is though. Is it DQing and zeroing out all replays submitted by the player, which if the player has admitted to never testing playback of any of their replays would be all of their scores?

There is a file that comes with newer versions of WolfMAME called ui.tcl. Install a program called ActiveTCL and then run ui.tcl, it will act as a sort of frontend for MAME and assists in handling command line perimaters for recording and playing back.

And as George stated, you really should be playing back your recordings before uploading them to make sure they work. Remember all those B. Rap Boys inps that always desynced...

I don't know how it happens but the score does jump from 30 to 50 points. But like I said, it is really not worth obsessing over points in a game with broken emulation (it should NOT count towards the leaderboard)

Yes i playback my recording if the game has known playback problems before i name the file.
