Mahjong games

Post by Donut »

I went through and reviewed all of the Mahjong games (with "mahjong" in the long name) that still had unconfirmed scores (some for up to 3 years!) and found the following that I still couldn't play back. Players, do you have any tips on playback, before the scores have to be modified to their actual playback scores? All of these were tried with DOS MAME and Mame32 for the versions shown, with and without sound, and in some Mame32 cases, full-screen and window screen.

Sentoo:

Game doesn't start *************** EDIT zeroed for recording with NVRAM ***************

Ozz:

First hand plays good, then gets wacky afterward

*************** EDIT zeroed, playsback to 126900 with NVRAM ***************

On this you do need the nvram to make it work, but the right hand still doesn't show.

yeah, a LOT of the mahjong games i tried way back when (these above were among them for sure) I couldn't playback. and also i didn't understand the scoring systems (still dont today! :) so if something played back partially i wouldn't really know if it was the right or wrong score to zero or confirm... Here's one of late that i can't playback and i'm almost sure it doesn't playback to the advertised score:

I can't get this one to playback. He loses the first game, and the game ends:

Same here. 3 Mahjongs, and highest score is 28,000 points. As Phil admits in the description that he can't play it back either I've zeroed it.

With Phil's passion for these games it won't take long before he make a good recording anyway :)

Thanks donut,. I've checked all of your findings and made some changes to those above, these below are ones i still cannot get to playback (and can't determine if they were recorded invalidly with nvrams) and need only one more person to check them to get them into the deleted category where they belong if they don't playback.
