gameboy9 wrote: Well I haven't seen the recording yet, but score and version-wise, you're good to go. :) As for the play... I don't know, I think I picked a tougher game than I realized... nobody's beaten the third boss yet. But I was wondering if somebody was going to get a sub-one minute first stage... well... you just answered that question... well done! :)
Thank you [:
Okay, then I'll put my doubt into a question: I've started using the player 3 (doesn't mean a three-players-game, i did really use the player on the right), does this compromise the possible confirmation of the INP? Just that, because if we all have to use player 1, then for me it's the same :]
the reason why i've chosen the player 3, should be easily understandable in the INP...

In my eyes, using player 3 is OK, as anybody could go to the arcade machine, place a quarter into player 3, and be on their way in a one player game.

@el_fumador: Your recording is good, but... 1:33 + 2:33 + 8:35 + 2:00 = 14:41, not 14:01, so you should reduce your score by 40 points. Otherwise, well done in being the first player to "complete" this game! :)

@All competitors: If you complete the four stages and you want to continue on and try for the regulation record, which is 531,600 points by P21, made 4 3/4 years ago, I say go for it. Just count the first four stages as far as submitting to the time trials is concerned.

I found this on the history.dat file (I think that's the file...) - it's very complex to accomplish, but it may be to your advantage:

- TIPS AND TRICKS -

Earning Extra Lifes : In stage 2, lose 1 life against boss. Beat him. When you come to the 3rd stage, don't break the barricades, just wait. First kill the Fat-Man and the Soldier.
WARNING : If you launch a desperation attack (attack+jump), all the effort will be lost.
Then wait until the Bird Man comes run against you. Hit him with a strong strike (push front+punch). Don't hit him while is recovering. Wait until he runs to you again and make the same. you can kill him after 3 strikes (unless with Lancelot).
If you're done correctly, hit the barricade of the above, don't pick the food, try to turn apart it, and you'll get a surprise... a cheess pieces with 2 lifes (2UP) waiting for you.
If you kill the second Bird-Man in the same way, the second item in the barricade will give you 1 more level (green sceptre).
If you remember, a 3rd Bird-Man gets into the castle when you break the bridge's barricade. Do the same trick with him inside, break the down barricade, break the item and you'll get one more life (1UP).

Fortunately... we won't be seeing another fighting game for the rest of the tournament, as mentioned in rule 1d of the laws of the time trial... :)

Well, we're obviously not supposed to help you find the ROM, but I can tell you that you can get wolfmame 106 by going to http://wolfmame.marpirc.net/wolfmameplus-0106.exe - so at least you have 1/2 of the equation taken care of. Hope you'll be able to find everything soon so you can join us. :)

Remember, google is your friend...that's all I'll say about that
As to the game, yeah, definitely not my genre either...I guess this isn't an elimination round, so I'll try and get something submitted before Sunday. I'm not sandbagging, so don't have to worry about me taking 1st place at the last minute...I'll be lucky if I'm not in last place ;)

Well, technically, every round is an elimination round... if you don't beat the minimum, then you're out. This being said, you only need to get past the first stage to move on to round 2. (this is basically so people play all five rounds to win the time trials, instead of the last round exclusively)

And if you sandbag a horrendous recording on Sunday, I'll probably just look the other way. :) It's top 3 and especially 1st place recordings where I'll get twitchy.

Place an asterisk before the name. So it's *tt2-game1. The asterisk is there so it won't be counted in the regulation leaderboards.

Meanwhile... @Innuendo: I haven't seen the recording yet, but this is a corrected score calculation, that's why your score is in red on the leaderboard. Can you change your score, please? Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I've done one where I did complete the first stage, but didn't complete the 1st substage on stage 2, but thought that really sucked, so I hadn't submitted it. I'll get it in shortly, just in case..that'll at least let me get to round 2 :) I think I have the score calculated right at 105801, let me know if it's wrong. Stage one was 1:58.

Yeah, that's a good idea. And the score is correct.
