No idea why, but the banner index actually seems to be down a lot more often that the actual sub-pages that I use frequently. (Uploads, Search, Submit)

Here's a temporary alternate index in case anybody else wants to bookmark it to use until and unless things return to normal:

Was having the same problem just now using Firefox 3. My Adblock filters were blocking the top frame, adding this exception rule fixes it.

Don Hayes's Millipede high score of 745,000 is unavailable . His comment states the script (.inp file) was too large to upload, cica 2007?
and so an alternate link was given
http://www.thedonald.org/marp/dbh-milliped-745123.zip
no longer exists apparently.
Also , on a related note...
unable to download Mame emulators from this site as well as Mamedev from dmame056 - dmame062? whenever alphame was adopted.
sometimes am unable to download Malehmuit's recent wolfmame from the main menu
mamedev come to think of it has all dead links
This error (HTTP 404 Not Found) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but the page you wanted was not found. It’s possible that the webpage is temporarily unavailable. Alternatively, the website might have changed or removed the webpage
could someone attach dmame060 so I can grab it
would be easier than an explanation or both would be helpful thanks.

All past regular MAME versions are available on github. https://github.com/mamedev/historic-mame/releases (0.122 and earlier) http://mamedev.org/oldrel.html for a more convienient list.
If you just get a blank page trying to download from the "get MAME" links, try right-click and open in new tab (or window).
