Sorry for missing this one :(

I'm not sure whether yours is an invitation to keep hammering on Galaxian clones, or a request for anything different... if the former, I'm determined to sooner or later hit 100K - this is the game that had me addicted back in what, 1979 ? 1980 ?

It's quite discomforting to see how I played better as a 11-year old than now 8O

...and when i'm done with that, I'll tackle Frogger - used to have 180K on 3 frogs + 1 at the arcade :D

Cheers, --alessandro (41a just because a.s was already taken !)

yeah do keep sending inps, old games are great to watch.

heh, "old" games :)

I'd still say they're more recent than Pong !

Managed to break 60K with galmidw - not one of the easiest; I'm slowly getting better at predicting and avoiding enemy fire... perhaps in 2008 I'll have reached 100K in galap1 8)

Yeah, unfortunately when I lose rhythm with a crashed ship it's fairly easy to get another killed in a very short time :(

I noticed that sometimes I get out of sync with firing - it *seems* like the sound of an enemy ship being hit arrives before the ship is actually hit, and I press the fire button when I *hear* the blast sound... which every now and then results in no shot being fired.
And me usually killed, of course...

When (if ?) marp.retrogames.com comes back on the internet (its DNS entry disappeared) I have a minor improvement to galaxiaj (54820) to upload.

Correction :D

I have a major improvement to upload, with a 89770 score to galaxiaj. Managed to keep cool and concentrated throughout the entire game. And I believe this beats my old score at the arcade when I was 10-11 years old. Take that, younger myself :P

the first one gives a slight advantage to the player over the
Aliens .

Thanks for the tips, I had indeed missed those further clones... will mash some more buttons in the next days, currently busy viewing Saints-Bears and next there's Cowboys-Redskins !

[edit] actually the first one is a Pacman clone

The other is one with non-standard swings, which I don't really love. Perhaps I'll give it a try anyway...

.
i am practising my poor romance language skills *sigh
.
41a
, actually the 4in1 contains the version you uploaded 31k for.
and the other gmgalax both pac-man and galaxian.
the screen is orange
fast player fire
fast movement
it rocks!
plus the enemies do not swing very severe.
just curious if your skills can conquer first , thats all.[/i]

Heh, I know very little spanish myself :D

I'm quite passionate about NFL football, that's the reason I bought a satellite tv sports package... funny watching the Bears play good football despite having half a quarterback. Hester is outstanding.
Redskins impressed me, and a Dallas without Owens, hmm.

Back to the games though - 4in1 galaxian is swingy, and made me go back to play some more galap4... gmgalax, oh - galaxian is activated in the dip switch menu

Will give it a try !

hello , 41a
i see you sent-in 97k for galap1
i have it on the desktop.
tired right now
finished dinner , doing dishes in dishwasher
it is 7pm here in ohio
going to rest a bit
will look at as soon as i awake
in 1981 there were 3 galaxian machines in town
i used to walk miles to play
i knew the different game cabinet styles , monitor types
25 cents was alot for a twelve year old
if i had five bucks i was rich.
anyhow try these games , if you want
only a suggestion
redufo
exodus

basicly galaxian with a mothership involved
one has guided missles for the player fire
Also...
moonaln
moonaln2
moonaln2b

these are Galaxian with different alien graphics and a fuel guage like one or two of the phoenix clones
plus the enemy attack level increases quickly.
hi's on both games are 30 or 40k
i think i rate 1st or 2nd on a couple
of them , very addictive titles
at least for someone with primitive arcade favorites.
you will reach 100,000
.
I hereby officially remove the 100k curse. [-o<
