Yes, this is a "known issue" that we need to get seymour to clean up. It looks like somebody probably got into dreamhost (where the forums are hosted) and injected hidden malware links into a bunch of the MARP forum web pages. This happened once before back in the spring (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14832) and seymour cleaned it up. The current malicious links I've seen point to http://sweepstakesandcontestsnow.com, but there might be other links too. Here's a link to what is probably a related problem with the links at dreamhost: http://sucuri.net/new-malware-sweepstak ... w-com.html

Until seymour fixes this you have to be careful using the forums. I'd recommend keeping your browser security settings tight and avoiding using Internet Explorer on the forums since it seems to be more vulnerable. I haven't had any problems with the links, but other users have also reported getting the malware popups. I know some people have recommended using Firefox with the Adblock extension to avoid the problem.

Probably just using Firefox (or some other browser) alone is enough. I don't have Adblock installed, and I've never come across any popups here. Although, I have the extra bit of security that is "not running Windows". ;)
