BBH,

Thanks so much for the reply. You know, it took me like half my childhood just to master one game. I don't know how you do it. Your Blazing Star Score is unreal, but I wish I could get it to playback properly. Thanks again !

So How about it, Novice ? I wanna hear your side of the story too.

Ah, Blazing Star. Be waiting BBH, I'm coming for you. Give me at least a few weeks currently, school work is bogging me down.

My comment was directed more towards Johnny.

Cubist: Arcadia is a Japanese magazine that prints arcade game high scores. I think some/most of the people who worked on Gamest went on to that after Gamest folded, but I'm not sure on that

It would probably help if I knew how exactly you were trying to play it back...

It should work with DOS MAME 37 beta 15 with sound on. The game can be pretty picky about how it should be playbacked, but I can't think of anything else that would affect it.

Sorry, I should have given more details . . .

The first time I downlaoded it, it worked fine. Since then, I haven't been able to get it to work again. I'm using the version of mame that is on the MARP site, where it says "get MAME". I have deleted the blazstar.cfg and blazstar.nv files.

Everytime I try to play it back, you miss quite a few of the grey-and-blue "BONUS" capsules, and then you die out while fighting the big boss at the end of stage 2.

Have you been able to get your recording to play back properly ?

It's caused by a device called RTC(Real Time Clock) in the Neo Geo:the game code sometimes checks a number of the internal clock for pseudo-random events,i.e the seconds for a particular bonus or enemy to appear in a given location.
When you playback a Neo Geo game,if the RTC is different than the RTC of the recorded one the playback will usually lose sync. This has been "fixed" to use a presetted value for playback and recording since .60

yes, I did check it before uploading and it played back fine... and was obviously confirmed on MARP... but yeah, it's probably fucking up now because of the RTC thing (it's to my understanding that in the MVS version, the DINO135 and DINO246 ships were time-released after the clock reaches a certain date).

I'm not exactly in a hurry to upload a new one right now either because of speed issues with mame60/61 on my piece of shit computer. I need to further study the safe spots of the Stage 6 boss before playing again. (learned some useful stuff off a Kawaks replay I got from some Japanese site)
