Further Bounty #2: $75 (usd) for playing a single game over 2 hours. $150 if that game score exceeds 10 million points. Must be submitted to MARP before January 1, 2006.

One of those cutesy games that I never paid much attention to, but I enjoyed playing it the last couple of days. Would have liked to have had more time to improve.

Seems to be some joystick calibration issues with it. If you don't go through the calibration test at startup, it still doesn't seem to work properly until you've held the stick in each direction a couple of seconds. I finally started making a little square circuit on the first level, and everything seemed to work after that. I was using the analog stick on a gamepad, there might be no problem with the regular 8-way directional controller, but you give up some precision on it.

A pretty good page devoted to the game is here:

FAQ is here.

The records for the arcade machine strongly suggest marathonability, so we will be observing the usual one hour limit. I'd like to see it, though. Those little bastards get pretty vicious after 100k or so.

Use WolfMAME .97

"On Deck" game: Sky Army

This is a very cool game in my opinion but also a hard one

Heh very strange. Keyboard is too slow for fast direction change. When I use my AS (electronic parts from simple pad inside) I can easy fast change directions. But with AS (and keyboard) is one problem - when Charley stands and don't move, his eyes always roll to right.
Playing with mouse is not for me.

Did you try what I suggested in the original post?

On the first level make it a point to go up, down, left, and right - each for a couple of seconds. After that it seems to work properly.

What I do:
1. Run game
2. Press button1 when NVRAM FAIL screen appear
3. Press F2 key and enter to calibration test
4. Calibrate stick/keyboard
5. Exit from calibration test using Player1StartButton
6. Press F2 key for return to game
7. Insert coin
8. Start game
9. Choose stage 1 to start
10. When I can control Charley eyes I keep up, down, left and right - each for about 2-3 seconds
And eyes roll to right.

I have always liked this game but have never seen anyone with the ability to marathon the game. I would like to see someone make a marathon replay just to see how it is done. :D

define what you would call a marathon for this title?

10 million?
100 million?

it is a very fast scoring game once you are up to level 99.

..can score 1 million within a few minutes.

The TG record is 100 million for the arcade machine on factory settings.

We're only asking for one tenth of that.
