Reward: $25 (usd)

Deadline for submission to MARP: November 3, 2006 2359 hours GMT

Further Bounty: none

I'll be honest. I picked this one mainly because it has cool backgrounds. Sound effects are pretty good too.

Random prize: To celebrate the coming of cooler weather for those of us in the northern hemisphere, one player submitting in excess of 84,540 points, selected randomly from those who do, will receive a 2006 GEGOTW logo hooded sweatshirt. (Those of you south of the equator can store it for 6 months or just sweat like pigs in it.)

Just a note - this will be for Space Odyssey version 1 - which is since 0.108 'spaceod2'. Version 2 was added then, and made the parent set. All recordings made with 0.107 or earlier on spaceod ought to be moved to spaceod2.

Probably best to leave the entire move until after this week, just so as to reduce confusion, seeing as you'll all be using 0.106. Like having 'spaceod2' = version 1 isn't confusing enough. :)

Sunday's bonus points to MarcoMarocco.

You would be waiting for one "Curtis Gaskill", then. After a stint in the army, he appears to be back in North Carolina where he set the record of 2,559,000 in 1982.

Johnny, XXL I think, I'm a big man
for prize money no problem, I wait after play off.
It's early to think about (matematically I'm note sure to reach the goal) but I want to ask you more infos about play off

The weekly game ending December 8 will probably be the last...possibly December 15 if I want to squeeze one more in. I will wait at least until after the holidays to do the playoff. The top five players in the yearly cumulative scores may participate. I will choose 10 Golden Era games and randomly (probably use the lottery numbers again) select 3 of them. We'll play all 3 games simultaneously for 2 weeks. I'll figure out some point system to get the players to upload their best efforts as the 2 weeks progress.

If I am willing to wait that long, I may use the 2 week period in between the NFL Conference Championship games and the Super Bowl (February 4, I believe). That's American football to you foreigners. Think of the Super Bowl as being like the World Cup, but a lot more important. If I don't want to wait, I'll do it some time in January.

I won't use any of this year's weekly games, but you can certainly expect to see some from 2004 and 2005's competition.
