YouTube Classics....

Somewhere for the annoying and/or off-topic threads to go. Feel free to post about whatever, but abuse will still be dealt with, and possibly with more force. Especially pac-porno. ;)

Just watched a movie called "The Legend of Billie Jean" (1985). I'm determined to watch all 80's flicks when they're aired, especially teenage flicks.

Fairly cheesy, naive and innocent 80's movie, with Helen and Christian Slater. Helen Slater starred in Supergirl (1984)...and I can see why.

Tagline:
"When you're seventeen, people think they can do anything to you. Billie Jean is about to prove them wrong."

"A Texas teenager cuts her hair short and becomes an outlaw martyr with her brother and friends"

:)

IMDB says: "Both she and Christian Slater achieved early success in their careers playing brother and sister in The Legend of Billie Jean (1985), leading many to believe they were real-life siblings. Although they share the same last name, they are not, in fact, related."

Soundtrack for the movie included Rebel Yell by Billy Idol and "Invincible" by Pat Benatar. So yeah, very 80's. Not quite "Footloose" or "Quicksilver" though, haha.

Rating 6/10.

Hello fellow MARPers. Long time no see. Speaking of YouTube classics, check out my page where I've uploaded video of one of my bands from 1979! I'm the one on the right playing loudly. ;-) The 1979 video is in old-school black and white (the only affordable technology at the time!) The color video is from a band I was in a couple of years later. Enjoy and comment if you'd like!

Great stuff John! =D>

Looney Tunes playing a good hard rock from the 70's, while Passion looking more like the 80's...even the hair of the lady.

I didn't watch all, but most I liked Looney Tunes(10)...a song I don't recall hearing before..."Budgie - Breakin' All The House Rules"...
Catchy riffs there. You guys rock!

Thanks, Tommi! The audio for Looney Toones is quite bad during the first 7 songs. The guy recording this concert switched audio recording methods at the halfway point of the concert and it becomes listenable. The 80s band was really good, but unfortunately we were stuck doing very lame cover material for the most part. Jill has a great voice and was quite the bass player, too. I'm looking forward to a potential Looney Toones reunion this spring. Should be fun!

I don't know if this has been posted, but I found it while looking at a video for the Norwegian band "Royksopp". This video here is definitely MARP related!

I recall Alex saying that he doesn't like metal ballads. How about this recycling from Finland...?

dead can dance has been a favorite since 88, when I heard them from TMC. They create such amazing music. And to play the santur live with that peace must be challenging. It's surprising that I've never heard lisa speak and she's a proper brit. I always presumed a middle eastern decent. Dawn of the Iconoclast...

80s newwave is my most counted category of owned songs.
.
But Lisa always pulls me forward. This is the first song I heard sung by Ms. Gerrard, and she then follows her vocal performance up with a loop accordion solo. Beware this song pair is hd so click, pause and wait, then play.
