Is it possible to one-credit even the first loop of this shmup? I've been trying and trying and trying, but the bullets are just too fast and too intense... X_X

Curse you, pre-Psikyo shmup!!!

well, going by the descriptions in the recordings that are up, both Midas and Vaz did it. And probably INNUENDO judging by his score, although I don't remember right now

I suck at part 1 and 2 :( part 3 is where it's at for me

How come AF Special isn't emu'ed yet? All the other AF's have been, but not Special? I really wanna play that again, and I doubt that I can ever go back to that obscure very-out-of-the-way arcade again.....

Oh well, time to learn from the master..... *checks out Midas' AF2 recording*

I think Sonic Wings Special is based on PSX hardware, which is why it isn't emulated by MAME yet (I think it's in Zinc though).

I wonder what arcade hardware AF Special could possibly be running on.....

Anyways, dammit! MAME 35 refuses to work for me; it asks for an audio device, but it just refuses to run no matter what I select (even Silence!). Argh, how can I check out Midas' INP like this...? :(

you might try the mame32 version, since it asked for the audio device i thought you might be using the dos one.

How can my computer not have an "audiow32.dll" file? 8O

Grr... I kinda doubt it but would the INP run fine under, say, AlphaMAME? Or must it be the exact version of MAME that made the INP?

Here:

http://marp.retrogames.com/exe/audiow32.zip

Uncompress it into your mame folder.

yeah kale's the man, that file should get you going with mame35... and no usually you need the same model/version to play stuff back, mame and alphamame are not compatible.

There, I finally got it running...

...except the INP doesn't play back perfectly (losing all lives at the Stage 2 boss) :(. What the heck? There's no HI, CFG, or NVRAM when I played it. Or maybe it's because I'm running it under WinXP.

What could be wrong...?

ah crap, this is what happens when versions get old, i can't play it back either, i think it can be played back with good ole dos mame but i can't get that to work with sound on my new computer... I'll post this one to playbackability to see if others can reveal some settings that work. Dosmame with out sound i can get to 400k but all my mame32 attempts die at 200k and can't kill 2nd boss.

Bumping this because I'm having trouble.

I can't get sonicwi2 to run on wolf74u1 (claiming that a file's missing). I'm not sure what's wrong, since I can run sonicwi2 just fine on older MAME's. Is there something I don't know...?

Also, I think Midas' score should be confirmed; I finally watched the inp on Win98 with the posted settings and it played back perfectly. Now if I could only play just as good as that... :P
