Thank you sir.

"Vortex" and "Vega" sound interesting, sort of games that could be good...nice snappy names. But not working yet...same with T&F NZ bootleg.
This is a slight problem for finding new games if one does not follow fixes...or understand them, which driver does what etc...

Wonder when they'll submit Dragon's Lair CHD. Let it be said now that it should be played on continue, minimum lives and hardest, imo.

Just some odd thoughts, cheers.

Can't really be avoided. Vortex should be an Asteroids style game running on Space Invaders (non-vector) hardware. It's encrypted, might just be a simple bitswap, but I'm not really familiar enough with the CPU, and there doesn't appear to be any obvious areas (encrypted text strings etc.) to make it easy for me to decrypt. Will probably be easy for somebody else.

Vega is an obscure old Italian game, with hardware designed for each individual part of the game much like the old discrete games (Monaco GP etc.) but driven by a CPU. Emulating it isn't easy as you have to fully understand the board. Dox was making some progress on it ( http://doxdev.blogspot.com/) but there's still a lot to understand, and the schematics are nearly impossible to read in some places, and just plain wrong in others.

I'm sure there are plenty of games that work at the moment which don't have any replays. Maybe some of them still have record / playback problems in current builds? Obviously no attempt can be made to fix those if people don't know about them.

A lot of the new additions aren't that interesting because they're gambling games and such, there seem like more of these than anything else recently, but that's manily because for a long time they weren't included at all, so MAME is still playing catch-up, had they been introduced over time instead like everything else they'd probably be less noticable. Obviously these offer no value to MARP even if some of them are interesting to study.

AFAIK Dragon's Lair won't be added as working until it's no longer sold. That could be a while. I don't really follow the logic behind this because the newer versions are completely remastered in HD etc. are running a completely reprogrammed game (they play directly on DVD players etc..) and aren't comparable to the original arcade being emulated at all, but it's not my call. It's no different to supporting PacMan which also has multiple rereleases IMHO.
