Interesting, I see Jungle Boy...almost bought one of those PCB's just to dump it...glad I didn't now :mrgreen: It's a clone of Jungle King, and possibly bootlegged from the prototype code, which was called Jungle Boy (at least that's how I understand it)

no, Jungle Boy is just a common bootleg, it's not even based off the oldest version of the code we have, nevermind a prototype.

Some people just started selling it as a prototype to inflate the value of their (otherwise worthless) bootleg PCBs, and possibly their egos.

Among the renaming:
derbyocw -> drbyocwc

I can't understand the logic : I thought that now clones names (with names > 8 letters) were built with parent name.
Should have been derbyocwc instead of drbyocwc, no ?

You're right! Someone at MAMEDEV doesn't know how to follow naming instructions. :roll:

Happens often and it usually takes one or two releases before they figure out the mistake...

Progress has certainly been made on Raiden II recently.

EDIT: Actually, it'd be quite playable if any projectiles were actually visible. :)

It´s working with all sounds, Barry? Is this the last version of MESS? And last question: use the same roms of MAME?

It's fully playable. (this game at least, the MESS PSX driver is still marked as not working - still issues with controllers, and streaming video/audio, memory cards, basically stuff not used in the PSX-based arcade games).
Do note that it is the PSX version of Raiden Project (compilation of Raiden and Raiden II), not the arcade (but plays identically).
I think the PSX version of Raiden DX is also playable in MESS.

Thank you so much again, Barry. Now I understood. :)

I´m playing this game on ePSXe. I have the Raiden DX image too.

I´ve made this question for you, because I thought Mess could emulate arcade roms too.

There are few differences between the versions of arcade and psx. I´d prefer the arcade. The music is awesome.

Well, I have to wait a little, right? :)
