Is it just me, or does the set altbeast4 not exist in the MARP database? It is listed as a clone, but I am unable to move Tarma77's altbeast score (http://replay.marpirc.net/inp/d/2/5/tar ... olf106.zip) to altbeast4, which is the set that the INP uses. Says that it is not a MAME short name.
0.36b1:
Andrew Prime added Altered Beast (Version 1).
Changed 'Altered Beast' to clone 'Altered Beast (Version 2)'. Renamed (altbeast) to (altbeas2).
0.92:
Renamed (altbeast) to (altbeas2), (altbeasa) to (altbeast), (altb8751) to (altbeas5), (altbeas2) to (altbeas4), (jyuo8571) to (altbeasj), (jyuohki) to (altbeaj1) and (jyuohki2) to (altbeaj3).
I've asked Pat to:
1-rename actual "altbeast2" to "altbeast4" : Altered Beast (set 4, MC-8123B 317-0066) ; only Frazer's input is a real altbeast2 input
2-create an other "altbeast2" : Altered Beast (set 2, MC-8123B 317-0066) ; I will move back Frazer's inp there
OK, I figured out what happened. A rename error occurred in m92 where I mixed up altbeast2 & altbeast4. Then, there is some recent history that shows another problem. Starting with m130, mamedev gave up on the 8.3 format. It wasn't until m134 that the altbeast series switched to long names, but no issues there. However, I misread a name change with m139, which then gave us the appearance that altbeast4 had been deleted. I had no reference, as MAWS was dying (and now they're really dead!)
In summary, the old altbeast (pre-m92) and newer altbeast4 INPs are still here, but they were renamed and incorrectly listed under altbeastj2.
