viewtopic.php?t=11213 in the last poll there was a 66% majority to change the rules so we'll take the top two winners of the last poll to decide which 5 lives to pick. Majority 50% wins in 7 days.

if someone scores at least 80k in the game then aren't these 2 options exactly the same?

Who cares about scores of less than 80k?

We don't need special settings just for scores of less than 80k.

The difference is just whether you earn that 5th man at 70k or 80k. What does it matter?

It seems tons easier to just have it at 20k/80k only so then the replay file shows all...instead of having to count deaths in case the player kept playing/scoring beyond the 5th death.

Difference between 70k and 80k is only 10k. You must count lives when you select default bonus life. If option #2 will become then probably will been possible to play on option #1.

another difference (besides the potentially slightly change in game play that isn't implied by it's 20k 80k name) is that the non default 20k 80k is chosen then sometimes (when mame changes it's cfg file format) the dip switches will have to be reset before recording, on the other side you don't have to count lives and remember how many times you've died.

1. For me is no difference if I play with default bonus life (5 limit) or 20k 80k. But if play with default bonus life then after lost 5 lives I must kill all left lives to enter initials. Sometimes it's boring. Score 700k=11 bonus lives + 2 on start + 1 you play = total 14 lives. After lost 5 I must kill 9 heroes and next enter initials.

2. If I play with 20k 80k then I see my lives and I can occupy oneself with playing, not counting lives. This is a bit comfortable.

When at the beginnig Deca2004 I play on Ghost'n Goblins (identical rule 5 limit) I had problems with counting lives. Now I set bonus life 20k 80k only (identical in xsleena

) and I can say that this is really more comfortable solution.

I don't have time to play for leaderboard now. I still play in Deca2004 (about 12-14 hours almost every day). But don't worry. I submit some scores after end Deca.

Yeah, I saw Kale was about to go down...hehe

I am struggling to stay at 82 average now.

I doubt I will...cuz I'm not nearly as active in playing to submit lots of scores as I used to be. I do have many other scores I have not submitted cuz they aren't my best..but just don't have time to play them all enough to get it. Guess over time will slowly build up from here on.

I have been playing a lot of Ladybug the past week...my personal high is up to 320k now...so getting there...but to toughest part of game. I want 400k game before submitting for that game. I don't think I have any chance at top score of 691k. My hats off to that game.

If you want to know the truth I'm already surprised that in over 5 months without submitting anything recording I'm still 7th...

I clear cache and click Leaders from upper menu and I have:

13th - tar - 136.80pts.
14th - destructor - 136.37pts.

Is there something wrong?

Now I click Index from upper menu, next click Leaderboard (show old leaderboard) and next click Leaders from upper menu and I have olympic leaderboard.
If now I close browser, next click from upper menu Leaders then I have old Leaderboard again.

The Leaders link should lead to marp.retrogames.com/olympic.txt.

Try right-clicking in the menu on top and select refresh. That should update it correctly.

I click refresh, install new browser (Mozilla) and I still have old Leaderboard

I know. Now I delete from favourites MARP link. I have olympic after Leaders click from upper menu and old Leaderboard after Leaderboard click on Index page.

I like better old Leaderboard
