For ***PL*** date 14 february isn't good. No reply from Ghemant. Then I think later date than 14 february don't have sense. Probably will be no K8 from me. Sorry.

Many Italian and Spanish players are playing on a team-tournament now and until March 31, so I would say they couldnt' play K8 if it's on Feb/Mar, sorry too.

So... the biggest unanswered question is... will we have another MAME Championships ever again?

OK, I'm sure we will, but if we don't have it this year, then I strongly suggest that we change the number of coordinators from 3 to 1. Although that might not solve anything either. Maybe this once great tournament is sadly dead... and that would be unfortunate. I'm just sayin'. I do have an itch to play, personally...

Note: K8 is a "knockout tournament", with some kind of qualification round(s) and after that a single elimination bracket where players go head to head on a single game. Each round lasts a week?

Perhaps someone should refresh our memory of the tournament format, I'm sure there can be done some easy copy paste jobs from earlier knockout announcements.

So Ghemant, what type of games are there to be expected and from what years? I for one don't have much interest beyond classic aka old games, unfortunately. How about a tournament with 79-86 shooters only!? ...perhaps one maze game in the middle for good measure.
Or how about some kind of list for say 20 possible games? Just an idea, simply ignore it...

What kind of games are going to be chosen for the K8 tournament?
Perhaps if would be a good idea to combine several types (a beat'em up or fighting game, a shooter, a platform...).
How many games are supposed to be played?
Preliminary round or 1 vs 1 since beginning?

I need to know more details. :D

This week end I plan K8. Because the number of players is important to understand the structure of tournament, I wait after first week of september before publish a official thread (this year the italian presence will be very reduce).

Total games will be 7 or 8 (depends from number of players). And will be especially head to head tournament.

About the genre will be (like tradiction) all genre (1 game for type), except mahjong, quiz, and videopoker games.

About the golden era titles, now I don't know if I'll include a very old game in this tournament.

What versions of Wolfmame will be allowed for the tournament?
And... a web page where I can download some roms? It´s joke

I hope a big group of Italian people join the tournament and not only a reduced group, it would be funny for the competition. Try to support your italian colleagues, Ghemant. The more players taking part K8 the better.
About the Spanish team, we'll see how many of us...
Where are the Japanese players? And USA players? And the French team? And Polish? And ...?
Come on, don't be shy guys.
