Me playing Raiden DX - Special Stage (keyboard)
Hello, guys. This is me playing Raiden DX - ePSXe version. Special Stage, or be, fighting against all bosses of the game, including the bosses from stages 1-0 and 1-9. I hope you´ll enjoy it.

First of all, thanks for answer the post, Chad. You know how much I consider you.Chad wrote:cool, lots of trucks going by in the background, and is that a wedding ring?
Yes! It is a wedding ring. I´m married since 2012 Jan 24th. I´m with a daughter too.

yah, definitely innuendo, learn how to use mess and make a HARP upload... and how do we tell all the guys doing PSX completions on the mess emu boards to make inps of them?

Of course, Barry and Chad. Just tell me how can I record a inp in MESS. I´ve tried but I had no success. I don´t know to do that in both command line or windows emulators.

It is very similar to mame, the only difference is that instead of a game short name like you input into mame, you need a system name and then which software to use for that system. In this game's case you need playstation japan as the system name "psj" and then the Raiden DX software added to mess with the device -cdrom option.
all other mame/mess options are the same -record -playback -window, etc. But with mess, the nvram folder is more complicated you may need to remove the entire folder system c:/mess/nvram/SYSTEM* before recording. But psj doesn't appear to make an nvram file, other systems do.
For older mess version you needed to create the chd from the cue file with this
But newer mess, you can use -cdrom PATH/*.cue and read right from the cue file. Now go beat Barry's recording!

Code: Select all
mame raiden
Code: Select all
mess psj -cdrom C:/MESS/SOFTWARE/psj/Raiden DX (J).chd
For older mess version you needed to create the chd from the cue file with this
Code: Select all
chdman createcd -i "*.cue" -o out.chd

this is why i can't use MESS! overly complicated!!
i could submit a load of scores for cbm64 and ps2, but it is beyond me at the moment!
gosh darn it!!
damn, i'm missing out!!

C64 is woefully slow, currently (mostly due to the proper emulation of the 1541).
PS2 is nothing more than a skeleton. And even if it did work, think how slow it would be... (think how fast Naomi games are in MAME)
Also, for my HARP recordings, I use the same record/playback script I do for MAME (based on record.bat and playback.bat provided with wolfmame, but for Linux), you just add the switch and path for the software (eg: -cart /path/to/software.bin).
Computer systems are obviously a little more complicated, since they often have numerous possible configurations.
Perhaps you could learn how to use an Amstrad CPC, instead?
