So the problem is that advancemame has better resolutions for arcade monitors.
I've heard that advmame is a pain to set up.

Do advmame inps playback with official mame?

Can you use wolfmame in your cabinet?
Or maybe it would be possible to use advancemame for practise and wolfmame for recording?

For the most part, they should.

He already has. Look at the previous page.

That's good if they playback, I'm not quite sure what we should do if they don't though...
As Chad said, we have enough mame versions already.
Previously, I believe, you have been able to use advmame if it played back with official mame.

Maybe there would be some ground to regulation discussion about mame versions accepted for marp.

What happened to look up ;)
...Ok, but I still see at uploads page the version being omame=other mame.

Heh, sure!
Here are two pics.
They aren't recent, but appearance hasn't changed much.
I replaced those joysticks and added a volume knob, nothing else.

It is a generic jamma cabinet with standard-res arcade monitor.
As you can see in the pics it was a Tetris machine.
I easily converted it into a MAME machine using a J-PAC as the interface for video and input.
Current PC hardware is a P3 550E which handles many games well.

It is very cool to play the games with a real arcade! 8)

advance mame crashing XP

ok I am pissed off after Advance Mame Windows 0.90
I try to launch it with "advmame raiden" but it ends with an error
"no monitor clock specification"

so apparently you have to set it up through advcfg.exe
so I launch it and it asks "Active, FrontPorch, Sync & BackPorch" of my monitor.
I have no idea what this is ? I use a 1024x768 laptop LCD screen.
I have tried to enter SUGGESTED values but this bastard CRASH MY XP completely !

I say this software is buggy !

I wonder what happened.

You are now using SDL instead of SVGAWIN.
