Works on my first computer, doesn't on my second. Big surprise, eh?

I don't know what's going on here.

This works on both comps: http://marp.retrogames.com/inp/3/a/9/er ... mame58.zip

LCF's works only on the P4.

I made my own Inp using AlphaMAME .69 and it works on both. :?

if you make the recording on the "other" computer does it playback on both? i can't get this one to playback on xp or 98 with and without nvram and sound. tried 8 times to playback  This one (currently) has only two people that can't play it back.

Yes, I played only the first level though because LCF's desyncs right at the start.

ButterMaker (P4)

kfx
Skito
ButterMaker (Celery)

SO there's something different between these sets of configurations that mame is tuning into. BM, are you sure you have the same ini/cfg (or lack of ini) on both your computers?

My processor is an AMD Athlon 1.4 THunderBird.

When I began this testing phase I copied my MAME dir from the P4 to the Celery. I did test with -norc to make sure that no config is read. I can check again with -norc cause I'm not sure when I did use it and when not but I'm sure that the config is not the problem.

My command line for every playback: alphamame.exe -norc -window -rompath d:\emulators\roms\mame -pb <inpname>

I made sure that I'm using the right MAME version for each Inp.

I tested all these Inps again:

LCF's angelkds: Works on the P4, desyncs right at the start on the Celery, he gets 10 points. It works with and without sound on the P4 and just to make sure I tried it with and without -nosound on the Celery.

SJK's darius: Works on the P4, plays back to 1997030 on the Celery.

BBH's zwackery: Plays back to 5880 on the P4, works on the Celery.

Luja's zwackery: Works on the P4, plays back to 560 on the Celery.

RAT's raident: Plays back to the claimed 194130 on the P4, plays back to 194050 on the Celery.

pacman's paradise: This works on both comps only when using -frameskip 11 -nothrottle. I didn't try other frameskip settings but this works each time.

RobbyS's pairs: Works on the P4, desyncs right at the start on the Celery.

Luja's pairs: Desyncs right at the start on the P4, works on the Celery. This is pretty strange because it was the other way around with Luja's zwackery which worked on the P4 but not on the Celery.

My own nbajamt3: Plays back fine on the P4 but desyncs right at the start on the Celery. My first shot goes in although it shouldn't.

Luja recorded a zwackery Inp with standard-MAME. It plays back to 78050 on the P4 and 900 on the Celery.

Luja's .63 zwackery plays back to 80610 on the P4 and to 1610 on the Celery.

Fuzzee's metlclsh: Works on the P4, doesn't on the Celery.

Manfredini-BR's mk: Works on the P4, doesn't on the Celery.

zlk's cloak: Works on the Celery, doesn't on the P4.

John Cunningham's snakepit: Works on the Celery, doesn't on the P4.

Thanks so much BM, this is really cool data. The only wierd spot is Luja's dualilty, which maybe can be explained by Luja recording on a work vs. home computer???? Luja did you record the pairs on a different computer you are recording the zwackeries? If not then maybe the games themselves have a play in how well new funky mame playsback things...
