I am trying to playback mpatrol and mk3 but the screen comes up backwards and flashing with different sounds and colours.
What could be the problem?
Using 0.84 Windows CMD line MAME

Craig

1. Read this topic:
viewtopic.php?t=9871
You must use identical version MAME to playback which version was used to record.
Example:
http://marp.retrogames.com/index.cgi?mo ... xlines=999
Alpha score 240 pts. is recorded in win61 (mame for windows version 61). You must download mame 61 for windows (CMD line or GUI-32)and under this version playback this inp.
Remember about nvram, sound settings, etc.

I don't get it. When I playback a couple of mk3 ones, the fighter isn't the one noted and he always loses anyway. It's weird and I don't get it. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

OK.
Try playback Alpha score 240pts on mk3.
Step1. Download mame32-61 or mame61 command line for windows. Oldest CMDLine version MAME you found here:
http://www.mame.net/oldmame.html
Step.2. Download ziped inp Alpha from mk3:
http://marp.retrogames.com/inp/7/5/a/al ... _win61.zip
Step3. Extract this zip to folder 'Inp'
Step.4. Delete folder 'Nvram'
Step.5. Playback inp.
PS. With wolfmame84 you can playback only inps recorded with wolfmame84.

You can also use this batch file
http://marp.retrogames.com/bat/playback.bat
Put it in your mame directory and run it by typing playback
game name inp name
If you still have problems then try with -nosound or -noautoframeskip.
Failing that and it's definately the same mame version and you've followed any instructions with regard to sound and frameskip settings then it's a bit of a mystery.
Could be an OS thing i.e. recorded on XP and you're trying to play it back on Win98 or something, although this is quite a rare problem.
