Gigawing, Widerstand, Top players' strategies (ATTN: Novice)

For the WIDERSTAND's first stage in GIGAWING (the volcano stage), I am trying to get a multiplier of around 8,300,000, but I can only get about 7,000,000. I would like to know how I can improve my strategy in order to get a higher multiplier. My strategy is similar to TANINI's (stage trip, stage boss).

(Figure 1: Map of the volcano stage, with close-to-optimal multipliers and item values at certain points. Screenshot source: Violet@TeamRainbow's INP file.)

Fig. 1 shows what my multiplier is at certain points in the game, usually after I use the reflect force. For the boss, I have these multipliers and item values:

First form:
  • TIME 85, front two gun turrets firing needle bullet clusters upward and downward: x2790511, +2935.
  • TIME 75, rear rotating gun turrets scattering bullets: x3527007, +3176.
  • TIME 66, side gun batteries open: x4014732, +3326.
  • TIME 56, central red gun turret scattering ring bullets: x4647247, +3511.
  • TIME 51, side turrets firing twin vulcan shots: x4967332, +3601.
Second form:
  • TIME 39, rear gun turrets firing needle bullet clusters upward and downward: x5336184, +3703.
  • TIME 25, boss is along the left edge of the screen: x5734267, +3808.
  • TIME 19, rear red gun turrets scattering bullets: x6190632, +3926.
  • TIME 12, boss firing short lasers: x6265416, +3945.
  • TIME 0, boss firing winder: x6823501, +4084.
  • TIME 0, boss escaping: x7074516, +4145.
Please point out where I can improve my multiplier.

I would also like to know the score and multiplier breakdown from plays by the ARCADIA record holder or YMN. That is, I would like to know either of their score and multiplier at the end of each stage trip and stage boss.

One more thing: when is it beneficial to crush your machine intentionally? I've read that YMN and DBS did so in their CKDF videos.

If you own clover-YMN's 259 trillion points video, there is very few improve points.
that 7.8 million multi at stage 1 is not so far from current champion's play.
8.3 million multi at round 1 is possible only when using RUBY's fighter.

I do not know how to over 294 trillion. 8O
but when current record holder can get only 280 trillion or so, I told him.

his play is superior than 259 trillion video's.

because
not use reflect force at stage 7. (+40,000x 50M=2T+)
can remain 134seconds at stage 6. (7 trillion+)
can destroy EVERYTHING at stage 2. (1 trillion+)
multi maxed out at stage 5. so destroy boss 5 quickly as possible. (10 trillion+)
he did not mentioned stage 1 pattern. maybe 7.8M was resonbale one to beat 280trillion.
do not hear me about another 13 trillion.stage 1 may changed. may not changed.

some top players does not suicide. It makes boss (especially boss 7) softer and game become easier.
but some top players(include current record holder "exchanger") consider it as DISADVANTAGE.

by the way, current MARP has very few highlevel replay.
please join here and make worthy replay. I think 150-200 trillion is not so difficult for you.
here is very boring now.

Why don't you make it more interesting and upload more yourself then? ;)

because it's much easier to talk shit than it is to actually take action, of course

If I have enough time to play it.
My current work is "XEVIOUS 3D/G".

A hard (not difficult. but hard) game I think.

Oh snap! I got burned because I'm not as good as some people at a freakin video game! Especially one where I don't have access to magazines with more advanced information! Whatever shall I do?!?!

Thank you for the information, Novice. I learned quite a bit.

I improved my multiplier to 7.2 million in STUCK's stage 1, but it's still far away from 7.8 million. Could you please tell me some tips to improve my multiplier? Like how many times I should use the reflect force on the boss's first form? And how much time should be remaining once I destroy the first form?

Also, yes, I am working on an INP file for GIGAWING. But whether I will provide one specifically for MARP depends on whether I should continue using auto-fire. For GIGAWING machines in Japan, is there a third button for auto-fire?

I don't understand. I thought reflected bullets are also worth points. What am I missing?

I'd just like to know what the point of using autofire on Gigawing is. It's not that difficult to keep the firing rate up...

EDIT: I just checked, enabling the standard buttons for CPS-2 games - only the two buttons do anything. There is no obvious option in either the US or Japanese versions that allow for autofire either.

That's true. However, I think it's less tiring to hold down a button than to repeatedly press it. And since I think it'll take me a long time to beat an ARCADIA record, I need all the energy I can get!

Last Mission isn't that difficult a game to finish, IMO.

My apologies to Bernard for the minor hijacking of his thread

If you see yourself getting tired from pressing a button constantly, why not improve that aspect of your gameplay? Not only will this improvement apply for this game you are currently playing, but possibly other future games you will play as well.
