WCC6 week 3 : BLOCK BLOCK
Game for week 3 will be Block Block (world) ; short name = block.
http://marp.retrogames.com/index.cgi?mo ... xlines=999
We will play the normal mode (not the practice mode).
At the beginning you can choose level from which you want to start between 1-21 ; this will be forbidden for WCC ; YOU WILL HAVE TO START FROM LEVEL 1.
Special bonus points :
10 pts to the first to complete the 50 levels starting from level 1.
Never accomplished on Marp (even if Donut was close on clone blockbl -- stage 47).
Apparently accomplished in japan : gamest record is 2043180.
Note that a finished game is rewarded by a 1M bonus, see below.

Stage 6 from blocka works ok on wolf103. But here is difference between all clones and original. There no 'speed button', batt is still in fast mode, this can be hard for keyboard/joystick players.
On regular MAME32-103 bug exist too.
EDIT
I check wolf74, bug still exist.
PS. Next excellent game in WCC.

All the other versions of Block Block use a dial controller. So you'd be better off using a mouse/trackball/spinner for those versions.
Only issue listed in the MAME source relating specifically to Block Block is "erratic ball speed". It could well be a game bug, or a protection issue.

From MAWS page:
info 0.37b14 [?]
0.35b4 [Nicola Salmoria]
Bugs:
* (only main set) : Can't finish level 6. When you break the last piece the game doesn't give a "round 6 clear", making you continue the play in that level forever (until time up, obviously). This also happens if the ball goes in the "EXIT!" block that pops up. block056yel Kale
* In Block Block (World 911106 Joystick), areas of empty black space appear in the game's high score table. This is only a problem in the parent set, and not in any of the clones. This bug has always been around, confirmed back to 0.37b15 (see snapshot). block085u2gre Don Tacos / BSR

End of week #3.
Clean sweep for Notman : first place + 3 bonus points !
And a nice comeback for the general rankings :

The 10 bonus points for completing all 50 levels can still be claimed till the end of WCC6, but even if Notman managed 19/50, I doubt seriously.
