I pulled off a MEGA recording (a rarity of mine...=) in 2020 Super Baseball...you'll see it in the tourney by the time you read this likely...
Now I know the tournament scoring is different in the MARP tournament, however with this recording I ALSO tied the MARP high for runs on one credit (Skito, you're good, but so am I...=) with 8...
Now, I don't mean to be greedy, but can I submit this score for the tourney AND for the regular MARP page? Or would that be illegal? Or would be allowed after the tournament?

I've seen Chris Parsley do it... and I believe I'm guilty doing it
to. In your instance though, just mention that your score is
reflected after the first credit.

Let me break what I understand of it down.
1) If the game you are recording for the tourney falls in the rules
for the MARP board, by all means go ahead...
2) Games that are NOT played by MARP rules, like 2020bb, I don't
think are valid to submit. (People are not going to want to download
an inp file of a large size to watch the first 3mins...
So, JR (good old JR) while you can submit them, 2020bb I do not think
would fit.
HECK TG settings are harder than default, if you can defeat someone
using TG, over them using default, more power to you!

Okay...so to my understanding...my score of 8 on the first credit of
a multi-credit game would be illegal? If that's the case, I'm
screwed, until I get my recording with 4 runs back...=)
Although I think it should be allowed...I'm not listing that have 18
runs in my game, I'm only mentioning the first inning here.
Hold on, Chris, gameboy9 submitted I THINK a MARP tourney recording
for Us vs. Them that was a two-credit game...and he only used the
score after the first credit. If that can be allowed, would my 8-run
first inning be allowed then? Sure, I used more credits than two,
but I'm only using the one that counts.
I'm not gonna argue, this is a silly thing to argue about, I'm just
trying to prove a point...if a multi-credit game is being played,
only the first one should could...regardless of how many credits are
used.
Well, whatever Zwaxy's crew decides, I'll live with...and if they nix
my non-tourney tourney recording because I used many credits, I won't
mind, I can probably duplicate it...but it might be hard...

I'm not saying gb's recording is legal either, but all of it will

I would say that if these 4 things are true then it would count:
1) The recording was made using exact tournament settings
2) The recording was made after 1 July 1999 0:00 GMT
3) The recording plays back properly on MAME 34 Final or MAME 35 RC2
4) The 2nd credit has no bearing of any kind or effect on the first
credit score (e.g. extra men, time, etc.) Also, the 2nd credit must
be used AFTER the first credit game is completed. In other words, it
must work like a continue and basically only keep the score going.

I accepted GameBoy's original U&T recording since it met all of these
conditions. Likewise, in your case the first credit score would
count, 2nd credit final score is completely ignored. However, as you
mentioned the scoring is different, so you would have to post an 8 on
the MARP side until Zwaxy changes to $$$ scoring.

I see no reason why a recording for the tourney should not count in
the regular MARP as long as the MARP rules are satisfied (double
negative , which in this case the 2020bb recording satisfies the
rules for one credit with 8 runs; you go sports dude.
