Aren't inp's supposed to be upped within 48 hours or something?
no
OK, that was just for Tournaments...

I knew I saw it somewhere.

I'm not crazy.

Perhaps but even when that's done that old recording isn't formally on the scoreboard anymore so the user would still have to resubmit that old inp...and someone confirm it...even though the same old one is already ehre and confirmed....so you might as well totally delete the old one anyway cuz the player would have to resubmit.

No he/she wouldn't. When the new Inp gets deleted the old one gets moved back on the scoreboard automatically.

Thank you DaviL, but the true pacland king is MASA.jp (no doubt about it)

I recall AL_B saying that the other romsets were easier or slower or something... I'd like to see him beat MASA.jp's score on that other romset...

If I recall it right, it's only set 3 that's slower. MASA used set 2.

And MJS, you still need to get all the flowers, you still missed just one. :)

I noticed Masa getting flowers in his run.. [sprouting from the ground]... but what's the significance? Does it enhance your points or something?

I don't know either. Probably they are just a cosmetic detail.

And to clarify the differences between versions:
  • pacland : fast and hard
    pacland2 : slow and normal
    pacland3 : slow and normal
    paclandm : fast and normal

ahh...this has me playing pacland in the first time in 20 years.

I used to be fairly good at it in the arcades getting around 400-600k. I vaguely remember some spot in trip 5 that was a point I was stuck at.

In playing it in MAME a few times it took me a bit to remember how to "fly" over those large water pools off the diving boards.... I see now it was holding jump down and tapping the "forward" key quite quickly....

The first few times I kept trying to tap the jump key....hehe

I remembered it was tapping something...hehe

Nice to see the differences above...I'll try the easier ones then. I was trying "pacland".
