Martin, you do realize you can submit a score for GEGOTW that doesn't beat your previous score and still win weekly points for the submission? You just can't win the prize money for the week unless you beat your previous score. I'm not sure if you're planning on competing in the whole 2006 series, but if you are, you could still submit for points towards the series.

Results:

1st: BeeJay (122,550)
2nd: NotMan (78,500)
3rd: destructor@HotTeam.pl (73,430)

BeeJay takes first and 4 bonus points for a total of 14.

NotMan takes second and 2 bonus for a total of 9.

Don't forget about the further bounty for exceeding 503,710 points by August 31, 2006.

Eligible for the random prize:

BeeJay: takes numbers 1-18
NotMan: takes numbers 19-36
destructor: takes numbers 37-54

55-56 are unassigned.

Watch at 0300 hours GMT for the Megaball number here:

http://www.txlottery.org/online/winmegamillion.cfm

which will determine the winner. If the Megaball is 55 or 56, the first regular ball drawn under 55 will determine the winner.

You know I was wondering about that while I was at work but it was too late in any case. It's all good though, I don't really know if I'll be participating every week or only for titles that interest me, depends on my free time.

From the original "ground rules" post, edited:

I wrote:4) If you already have a recording submitted to MARP for the game, you are eligible for the contest only if you better your previous recording. This will help negate advantage held by those players, and encourage them to "raise the bar", which is sort of the whole point here.
(EDIT: If you wish to temporarily delete your previous score in order to play along during the week, you are welcome to. I will also consider such submissions valid for Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday bonus points and for the weekly 10-7-5 cumulative points, BUT TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE MONETARY PRIZE YOU MUST STILL BEAT YOUR PREVIOUS SCORE. Prize will otherwise go to the next higher scorer.)

There's also the further bounty to think about...

The Megaball is 13.

BeeJay is the random prize winner.

Ironically, you are telling that to a guy who analyzes the contents of the RAM to understand how the pseudo-random stuff work in videogames!

I can see it already, Destructor cracks the randomness in the Powerball lottery so he can win more GEGOTW random t-shirt drawings.

Why not? Very few arcade systems have any form of random number generation in hardware.

There is no such thing as random anyway.
In fact, the whole universe is deterministic... we just don't know all the variables!

Marco: It is the future you see.
TJT: Will they die?
Marco: Difficult to see. Always in motion is future.
TJT: I've gotta go to them.
Marco: Decide you must what to serve them best. If you leave now, help them you could, but you would destroy all for which they have fought and suffered.
