Any editor feel free to zero timeplt and spaceplt recordings by Renzo.

If the other scores have been zeroed, then Renzo's timepltc score should probably be zeroed as well. He does some more of this end of level leeching (for example after 5 stages he's picked up an extra 90-95K or so). He reaches level 22, while the 2nd and 3rd place scores both reach level 24 but have 50-80K less points.

Since loitering is prohibited, any editor can zero that remaining Renzo's recording. (even without me saying so...) Hopefully TP scores are starting to be a bit more clean after that.

I watched the recordings for 2nd and 3rd (Seance 834K and JSW 801K) and both of them looked ok (leech-free) to me. Both of them reach level 24. The recordings for Seance and JSW look clean on all of the Time Pilot clones.
I feel a bit bad for Renzo on this, since while there is some leeching, his play is still excellent. Regardless, on spaceplt and timepltc he clearly doesn't deserve first place. I have to wonder why these INPs ever got accepted and verified (the Time Pilot score is even listed on Mark Longridge's MAME TG records page). Maybe this sort of end-of-level leeching slipped through since it wasn't as obvious as the parachute leeching explicitly outlawed in the special rules. If this form of leeching is allowed though, the game is a fairly easy marathon on default settings (and is probably even a marathon on the new ultra-hard TGTS settings).

Renzo, please note what I wrote above. I'm sorry you didn't join us for GEGOTW this week. I respect your Time Pilot ability a great deal.Zhorik wrote:I think zeroing it is a bit harsh since it is an old and "prestigious" score and even with the leeching it is still the best recording on MARP (although only slightly better than 2nd). It looks like he leeches about 155K on level 1, about 10K on level 3 and 30K on level 6, so about 195K total. He probably gets a net of 1 extra man out of the leeching.
He still reaches level 35 (and would have without the leeching also), which is one stage further than the 2nd place score which reaches level 34.
