Basketball scoring

With normal scoring system I mean games like NBA Jam and NBA Hangtime with scores like 80-70 and not something like Super Basketball.

Point difference: If you win 10-5 you get 5 points.

Total score: If you win 10-5 you get 10 points. If you lose 10-20 you get 10 points as well.

It's added.

I don't like that system because in basketball defense is as important as offense. I don't see why somebody who wins 11-1 should get more points than somebody who wins 10-0.

In case of same diff, in football then you give advantage to best attack ... that's why I like the idea

Well, the title of the poll was for Basketball scoring. Looks as though the difference scoring is heading for the win here. I'd prefer the 10xWin - Loss for American Football. Perhaps a seperate poll for American Football?

I know poll is for basketball, but I also prefer in basket to watch a tv match ending 120-118 instead of 42-40 (like in soccer the wednesday incredible match Manchester-Madrid ending 4-3 was much more exciting than a classic 1-0)

are for the most part edited, there were a few recordings i couldn't playback so i wont edit untill someone else verifies they also can't play them back, will do more later.

I think this poll is a piece of $#^$... and here's why.

NOW! If this was BEFORE my poll regarding all Basketball and Football games being allowed to be FULL games much as the Baseball games are, that's fine.

But NOW! I see my scores are suddenly reduced BIG TIME, all because PREVIOUS games that were only 1 Quarter only [for instance, NBA Jam] happened to have far larger leads.

This just ticks me off to no end, as I worked hard at my scores, just to see them go from 1st to last.

I would hope SOMETHING can be done in regards to this, because otherwise one could make a deduction that this poll was started when some of the competition realized they may not be able to come close to the high score [though HunterKiller-DF is a pretty impressive competitor]

Whether it's a final poll to decide EVERYTHING and so that EVERYONE knows wtf is going on, or just an outright wiping of scores and it starts fresh... something has to be done..... I mean seriously... what's to stop someone from only playing 1 quarter, ramping the score up 30-2 and then quitting [before the pc suddenly makes you go cold and not able to sink a bucket so it can catch up]

Common sense tells me that the full game rule requires a full game to be played.

common sense says anyone who's good at basketball can quadruple a single quarters's score with a full game.

Jeeze we (frankie) deletes recordings legitimately because of a poll and people cry a river, we (Me) try to preserve recordings (even though they should be delted by the poll) and people still cry a river.

Quit complaining Kelly, you basically played TIE games for four quarters which means you scored even steven all ALL four quarters, a feat which pales in comparison to the people who can actually block every shot the CPU makes... that definintley deservers more credit than a tie game that was beaten in overtime... I'll definitley not allow NEW single quarter scores to be allowed but the ones that are there are pretty spectacular and i didn't want to delete them just yet.

oh yeah, and you're welcome for spending 3 hours trying to get 50 recordings with 20 different mame version recordings playedback correctly to fulfill these public polls. another 3+ hours togo...

These are checked, at least to quarter scores. I suspect anyone who originally recorded these quarter scores should easily be able to quadruple them so i won't delete them and leave them place marker status (unless i hear a more valid complaint other than my score isn't in first place anymore.) I suspect buttermaker and grendal to start making a killing :)
